A service that focuses on the rehabilitation of people who abuse. Domestic Violence is prevalent in every community and does not discriminate. Domestic violence is a plague that has destroyed families/relationships. In response, programs that are victim based have increased to help this issue. Although these programs have helped tremendously, there still needs to be education and rehabilitation efforts for the abuser. It is more effective to rehabilitate a batterer’s behavior than to ignore the cause of the issue. Services are created to challenge and tackle unhealthy behaviors to evoke change. Cognitive behavioral group therapy is the most common approach used in Batterer Intervention Programs (B.I.P). “We can’t change the past, but we can heal the future”.

Facilitators of B.I.P will challenge participants’ beliefs, attitudes, and denial of abuse. This helps the participants to examine the origin of their behavior so they can reframe from negative actions and begin respecting their partners. Overall, the program's focus is the rehabilitation of the individual by Identifying the core issues and changing the toxic behavior through reinforcement of positive thinking.
